Private Capital Management, Inc. (PCM) is an independent, employee owned, Registered Investment Advisor located in the Cherry Creek North area of Denver, CO. The firm was founded in 1994 by Tom Meade after achieving career success that included positions on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee at AG Edwards & Sons, President & CEO of Boettcher & Co., President & COO of Kemper Securities Group Holdings and President of Fidelity Brokerage which, at the time, was the largest discount brokerage firm in the United States.
PCM currently manages nearly $170 million, and is a fee only and fully discretionary advisor that does not sell insurance or investment products. The firm focuses solely on Financial Planning and Investment Management for high net worth individuals and does not offer advanced tax or estate planning. PCM has a differentiated approach to investment management, and our investment process is proprietary, quantitative and repeatable.
The primary purpose of this role is to develop new business and expand awareness of the firm. Candidate will spend the majority of the time identifying and cultivating prospective clients, expanding relationships with centers of influence and helping to develop a cohesive strategy for growth. Candidate must be extremely self-motivated, and be able to develop sales goals and objectives with a plan to meet them. This person must be able to work with little direct supervision, be driven to succeed and be able to hit the ground running. Individuals with strong connections in the community and 5+ years of professional experience are preferred. PCM is most interested in successful financial advisors that are looking for a change and may have a portable book of clients. A bachelor’s degree is required. Higher education and professional certifications are preferred, and financial certifications are a positive. Excellent consultative, interpersonal and communication skills are required. Proven success in developing and managing client relationships is preferred. Candidate is expected to be a team player and actively contribute to the overall success of the firm. This includes investment research responsibilities and active participation on the Investment Committee, among other responsibilities.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience, and will include a base salary plus a performance based component. PCM offers health insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and company support of professional licenses and designations. This position will have significant upside opportunities based on successful new business development and integration with the company.
