Letter from the CEO

Welcome to the inaugural issue of Advisor Perspectives!

Advisor Perspectives has exclusive access to a database of approximately 50,000 accounts representing $50 billion in Assets Under Management. High- and ultra-high net worth investors who use a financial advisor provide a model for financial success. By looking at trends in the AP universe, we can identify valuable insights into how this select demographic segment invests their money.

Our goal with this publication, and with our web site, is to fill a void in the landscape of information available to independent advisors and wealth managers. We will focus on how advisors deal with the most complex and challenging issues they face, in areas such as technology, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and marketing. By using case studies of individual firms, we will show how leaders in the industry are molding their practices to achieve their growth objectives.

Today's lead article on Highmount Capital is our first such case study. See how Highmount is developing innovative technology tools to help service some of the world's wealthiest families. Our second article examines risk aversion and asset allocation trends among smaller and larger investors. Contrary to what some might think, smaller investors are actually less risk averse than larger investors.

As this is our first issue, we have a few guidelines we would like to share with you:
  • We have a spam-free policy. If you do not wish to receive this newsletter, use the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email
  • Ideas and suggestions, either with respect to newsletter content or to ways in which our database can be analyzed, are welcome. Please send your ideas to editor@advisorperspectives.com.
  • Our publication and our web site are supported by advertising from firms that service the wealth management industry. Any content specifically from an advertiser will be clearly identified
