In the last four months of 2007 the price of crude oil increased nearly 50%, from $70 to $100 per barrel, one of the four steepest spikes in history.  Philip Verleger, an expert on oil prices, shows the cause of this increase, and provides his forecast for oil prices in 2008 and their likely impact on the economy.
