With the sub-prime crisis gripping the markets, we look at the hard data on the size and scope of the problem.  We spoke with two industry experts, Dan Gertner from Grant's Interest Rate Observer and Michael Youngblood from FBR Investments, who quantify the issues and offer their predictions for how things will unwind.

Ron Surz provides his award-winning market commentary, assessing the damage for the month of January 2008 and the extent of the decline on various sectors, including target date funds.

We have two letters to the Editor.  The first concerns our interview with Peter L. Bernstein, and addresses the question of style-box constraints and their role in the sub-prime crisis.  The second looks at the controversial Zero Alpha Group study on Investor Timing and Fund Distribution Channels, and includes a response from the authors of that study.

We look at changes in the Most Popular Mutual Funds over the prior 12 week period.  Not surprisingly, the funds showing the greatest defections were in the international markets.

Lastly, our initial release of Advisor Market Commentaries is now "live" on the site.  Read commentaries from prominent advisors such as Harold Evensky, Lew Altfest, Ron Roge, Rick Ferri, Ray Ferrara, and Paul Merriman, and see how you can submit your commentary
